Hailey Peck

The Humanity of Light and Color

My paintings are a direct response to the lack of control I've had over my feelings and emotions. My mission was to rediscover the color red and how it can be utilized in a composition without overpowering. Just like my emotions, I wonder how I can control an alarming experience such as the color red? By using photos of family members and fishing trips to ground myself, I have created spaces of experimentation and expression allowing myself to enter deep thought and self reflection. I hope to share a glimpse of how I see and feel color with the viewer.
