Hercules

Craft is my scale in the chapter on singing heroes. Hercules is a spaceship carrying the narratives of ancient Greek mythology. He was born of longing amid noise and solitude: freedom from "gravity" and a fascination with eternity—expressed by a deep-rooted love of figurative sculpture and architecture in the sky.

People ask me why I use old myths. Understanding new and old is more like a sense of distance to me. The things that are farther away and different from me and my life are newer to me because they can bring new experiences.

My pieces never have much to do with identity, and they show my stubbornness. Spaceship Hercules carries the spirit of self-transcendence because, in the path of being a maker, I believe time and a person's name do not matter all that much.

Bio

My interest stems from creating a reference for a character in this challenging world we live in, and my exploration through the process of sculpture keeps me whole.
